La giocatrice doc del Cras. E’ Marta Masoni, l’unica tarantina del gruppo senior rossoblù. Ala piccola, talentuosa e con ampi margini di miglioramento. Da sempre è stata una cestista precoce. E’ nata il 13 luglio del 1993 a Castellaneta, ma ha sempre vissuto a Taranto. A 5 anni la mamma, Gemma Chiloiro, ex colonna del Cras con presenze in Nazionale, porta la baby Marta in palestra e le piazza il mano il pallone da basket. L’allenatore che la segue con dovizia nelle giovanili è il tecnico crassino Fabio Palagiano. Nell’estate 2005, a 12 anni, fa parte del progetto federale azzurrina a Bormio, dove con l’atleta Sottana (ora sua compagna) costituisce un’eccezione.

Il debutto in Nazionale Marta lo fa nell’agosto 2007, a 14 anni, con l’Under 15 al Trofeo dell’Amicizia. Da allora entra in pianta stabile nel parco azzurro. Nel 2008, infatti, in Polonia partecipa al suo primo Europeo, under 16, e conquista subito la medaglia d’argento, con la media-partita di 7,1 punti e 5,8 rimbalzi. Nel 2010 conosce la gloria, contribuendo con la sua media di 6,3 punti e 2,9 rimbalzi all’oro italiano nell’Europeo under 18. Marta ha appena 17 anni. Nella stessa estate ha l’onore di rappresentare l’Italia alla prima Olimpiade giovanile tenutasi nella Repubblica di Singapore. Nel “3 contro 3” Marta non va a medaglia ma si fa notare col trend di 7,3 punti e 4,6 rimbalzi. Rendimento discreto anche nelle manifestazioni iridate dell’estate 2011: 6,4 punti e 3,8 punti tra il primo Mondiale della storia giovanile azzurra (Under 19) e l’Europeo under 18. Sinora Marta ha collezionato un centinaio di presenze con le nazionali giovanili.

Vita nei club. Nella stagione 2007-2008 coach Aldo Corno la lancia in campionato, dove l’ala tarantina, a soli 14 anni, è la più giovane giocatrice della lega. Nella stessa stagione sarà in Europe Cup l’atleta più giovane della manifestazione continentale. Le sue credenziali spingono la federazione europea, nel marzo 2008, a convocarla all’All Star Game Under 15 di Mosca, dove rappresenta l’Europa nel match col Resto del Mondo.. Nella successiva stagione 2008-2009 gioca ancora con il Cras in A1, ritagliandosi un nuovo piccolo spazio: 12’ in campo a partita, con il trend di 4 punti ed 1 rimbalzo a giornata. Nelle due stagioni successive fa parte del progetto federale College Italia. Ha 16 anni quando lascia Taranto. Ora torna nella sua città da maggiorenne. I suoi modelli di cestista sono Larry Birg e Penny Taylor. Oltre il basket c’è la sua passione per la moda (ha fatto delle sfilate) e per la musica, con gli Oasis, Lou Reed, gli Who e Rolling Stones tra gli artisti in cima alla sua track-list preferita. Il prossimo obiettivo è il diploma di maturità che conseguirà nella sua città.

The player doc of the Cras. Marta Masoni is the only Cras player born in Taranto. Small forward role, she’s a talented athlete and has great room for improvement. Marta has always been early in the basketball life. At the age of five years, her mother, Gemma Chiloiro, player of the past Taranto and with appearances in the National team, brought the daughter in the gym to begin with basketball. Fabio Palagiano, current coach of B division, has followed her in the juvenile phase. In the summer of 2005, at the age of 12 years, Marta attended the first federal meeting in Bormio, together with the current layer of Cras Giorgia Sottana.

Marta debuthed in the Italian National team in August 2007, at age 14, playing with Under 15 roster the Tournament of Friendship. After, in 2008, she played in Poland her first European under 16 championship and won the silver medal, with the average of 7.1 match points and 5.8 rebounds. She has known the glory in 2010, contributing to italian gold medal in the European under 18 championship with her average of 6.3 points and 2.9 rebounds in the European Under-18 Italian gold. Martha, at 17 age, in the summer 2010 had the honor to represent Italy at the first Youth Olympic Games in the Republic of Singapore. 

In the 2011 she had discrete performances at her first World Under 19 championship and at the European Under 18 championship. 

Martha has so far collected a hundred appearances for the national youth teams.
 

Life in the clubs. In the 2007-2008 season, the coach Aldo Corno throwed Martina in the italian league, where with Cras Taranto, at 14 years, was the youngest player. The same thing in the Europe Cup. Her credentials pushed the European federation, in March 2008, to convene her at the All Star Game Under 15 in Moscow, where she represented Europe in the match versus the Rest of the World. In the In the following season, Marta played again with Cras: her average was of 12 minutes in the court, 4 points and 1 rebound in the match. In the two subsequent seasons she was part of the Federal team College Italy. At 16 years old she left Taranto. Two years later she came back home. Before his eyes there is a beautiful dream called Cras Basket.

Her basketball models are Larry and Penny Taylor Birg. The other her passions are the fashion and music, with Oasis, Lou Reed, Rolling Stones and the Who as favorite artists. The new goal is to gain the maturity school in Taranto city.
